In this race report, I'll be recapping the Sap Run 5k. This race is held in conjunction with the Hebron Maple Festival.
There was a 1-hour course limit for this race due to traffic constraints.
Town: Hebron, CT, USA
Distance: 5km
Conditions: The weather was chilly and windy in 2026. It was 45 degrees Fahrenheit when the race began. It was quite sunny throughout the race.
Parking: There was plenty of parking at the Hebron Parks & Recreation department, where the race started and ended. There were various small parking lots around the campus.
Check In: The process was held inside the Parks & Rec building, which was convenient as there is an indoor restroom. There was no line to speak of. There were 2 more port-a-johns outside, too.
Course Description: This was a super hilly course, and it was an out-and-back race. The entire first mile was uphill, with a few flats. There was a downhill section to the turnaround loop, which was up a small slope. On the bright side, that meant the entire last mile was downhill and it was easy to pick up some speed
There were some nice views at the crests of each hill of the farmland below.

Afterparty: There was some good pop music playing over a high-quality speaker, and it was not too loud. There were many refreshments, including fruit, granola bars, Gatorade, and water. Each finisher received a tiny, adorable bottle of maple syrup. I saw the prizes for the winners and they included large bottles of maple syrup. Participants were invited to attend the Maple Festival at the town green, but I had to get home.
