As my husband and I continue to clean house in preparation for a move later this year, we've started tackling all of our storage areas. There's a shelving unit in our garage that has been a catch-all for my gardening supplies and I finally went through it.
I plant a garden every year, and I usually buy multiple plants from a local nursery in order to hasten the timing of my first harvest. Over the years, the plastic planter pots from these purchases have piled up on the shelf in my garage. I also found a decorative planter that I bought and never used. While I was rinsing out the pots, I spied my neighbor across the street, who has numerous plants in various planters. I asked if she needed any of these pots and she happily accepted.
If she returns any excess pots to me after she's used what she needed, I'll give those to a local community garden. My town doesn't have one, I'll have to go to a neighboring town.
