Race Report: 2025 LEO Memorial Run

Today, I will be recapping the 15th annual LEO Memorial Run.

Course Map

Date: 26 October, 2025

Town: Middletown, CT, USA

Distance: 5km

Conditions: The morning started off cold and drizzly, but the sky began to clear right before the race began. It was 46F when the race began, but conditions continued to clear and warm up during the race. By the time the race ended, it was a beautiful sunny day.

Parking: There was limited parking the Wadsworth Mansion where the race starts and ends. Overflow parking was available at the local elementary school, which was described as a "short walk" away (it was a half mile from the registration table).

Check In: Check in was quick but a little cramped as runners and spectators all crammed onto the lawn in front of the Wadsworth Mansion.

Course Description: This was a beautiful, hilly course through neighborhoods in Middletown. It was a loop course that started and ended on the driveway of the Wadsworth Mansion. The course was very well marshalled, which is what I expected from a race with significant police involvement.

The course is relatively hilly, with a bumpy downhill dirt road section in the third mile. The final quarter mile is also uphill.

Afterparty: Offerings were definitely sparse. There was a table with bottled water. I also retrieved my shirt after the race as I did not have time to bring it back to my car before the start of the run.
